The French restaurant group Bistrot Pierre will be opening its Southport bistrot on 17 November – its third site in the region.

Located on Lord Street, the restaurant, which serves great value authentic French bistrot dishes, will have capacity for 140 diners and is set to create 50 jobs in the area.

“We’re delighted to be coming to Southport – the North West’s food and drink scene is booming at the moment and we’re excited to bring something new to the table,”

said Karen Rimmer, general manager at Bistrot Pierre.

“I’m from the area myself, so I understand the local market, the people and have 18 years’ experience in the industry so I’m confident the new bistrot will create a memorable dining experience for customers, looking to enjoy French cooking in a relaxed bistrot setting.

We’re currently looking for both front of house and kitchen staff to join our team and will be holding recruitment days on 18 and 19 October at the Eastbank Street Job Centre. I would urge anyone who might be interested to come along and hear more about what we can offer in terms of training, development and our unique bistrot benefits,”

continued Karen.

Bistrot Pierre was set up more than 20 years ago by school friends, Rob Beacham and John Whitehead, who have since grown the group’s presence across the UK.

Rob said:

“Although Bistrot Pierre has grown considerably, we ensure that each of our bistrots are unique – following the French ethos of no two bistrots being the same. We’re proud to be maintaining the beautiful, original features as we create a classic French bistrot for diners to enjoy.

With Christmas just around the corner, we look forward to welcoming diners looking for somewhere new to celebrate with colleagues or friends and family. Our bistrot will be beautifully decorated, making it the perfect backdrop for festive celebrations.

Southport is a beautiful town, steeped in history and culture with beautiful scenery, shops and restaurants and I’m thrilled that Bistrot Pierre is able to support this thriving local economy.”

The bistrot will be open from 9am daily, offering breakfast – or petit déjeuner - to Southport’s diners. Having also just launched its autumn/winter menu, Karen is particularly excited to bring Bistrot Pierre’s great value French flavours to Southport.

She added:

“The new menu features a mixture of classic dishes - including boeuf bourguignon maison and confit de canard - as well as exciting new dishes including poulet chasseur, which is pan-fried chicken in a classic chasseur sauce of red wine, mushroom and concassé tomato. There really is something for everyone and is such incredible value.”

Jeremy Collins, director of Jenics who completed the deal, said:

“Having already secured prime locations for Bistrot Pierre in Altrincham and Preston, we immediately saw the potential of this stunning property in the heart of Southport. With its unique character and busy footfall it is a perfect site for the new bistro and will revitalise this important area for the town.”

The popular lunchtime prix-fixe menu, which changes monthly, will also be available seven days a week with prices from £9.95, £11.95 and £13.95 for one, two or three courses. The early evening prix-fixe menu will also be served until 6.45pm, offering two courses for £14.95. The evening À la carte menu is also available and changed with the seasons.
