ONE of the most popular tourist attractions in the South West has welcomed its first arrivals of 2016, with a batch of baby lambs born in the park.

Puxton Park, outside Weston-super-Mare has welcomed its first lambs of the year and is inviting youngsters to one of two lambing weekends on January 23 and 24, or January 30 and 31.

Puxton’s Alistair Mead, said: “Our rangers are currently caring for our lovely new arrivals and we cannot wait for young visitors to come along and help bottle feed and cuddle them.

“We feel it is important to offer a range of educational experiences and our lambing weekends allow families to get involved in our animal care.”

Children can get up close by bottle feeding the lambs at selected times and listen to informative talks about how the park cares for its lambs on a day to day basis.

Puxton hopes 2016 will become another bumper lambing season following huge numbers of lambs born in the past two years.
