The award-winning Apex City of Bath Hotel is hosting the first concert in Bath Philharmonia’s 20th Anniversary Season.

The hotel located on James St West is venue partner for the popular orchestra, with the first performance taking place on Saturday 5 October 2019.

Bath Philharmonia are performing in the Lansdown Suite, the hotel’s largest conference and events space – a room that Jason Thornton, Music Director of Bath Philharmonia declares has “Bath’s best acoustic.”

The hotel, Bath’s largest and only purpose-built city centre conference facility, houses a total of 11 meeting and event spaces perfect for conferences, meetings, social events – and music – with the spaces accommodating up to 400 people.

Following a complimentary launch evening at the hotel earlier in the year, Bath Philharmonia decided the venue was the perfect place to host the Season Opening with one of America’s most brilliant violinists, Tai Murray.

Tai will perform Barber’s Violin Concerto as the orchestra accompany her in an evening of music that jumps, cartwheels, dives and dances with an unstoppable and joyous energy.

Michael Musgrave, General Manager at Apex City of Bath Hotel, said:

“We are thrilled to play host to Bath Philharmonia’s 20th Anniversary season opening.

“We believe it is our responsibility to support charities and local groups within Bath and when we first met Bath Philharmonia earlier this year, we were thrilled that they had chosen to perform in our wonderful Lansdown Suite.

“It is set to be an excellent evening so I would encourage those who haven’t purchased tickets to book before it is too late.”

Simone Homes, General Manager of Bath Philharmonia, said:

“Apex City of Bath hotel has brilliant facilities and is the perfect venue for a luxurious evening out in the city. This is one of the reasons we wanted our season opening to take place in the Lansdown Suite.

“Michael and the team at the hotel have been incredibly helpful with our launch evening and the upcoming concert. It’s the start of a great partnership.”

The £50 million pound property which opened in 2017 has had a successful first two years in the business, with this year seeing a boost to its events team.

The 177-bed property sits in the heart of Bath and is only a short walk from Bath Spa Train station and close to plenty of the top tourist attractions within the city. For further information on its state-of-the-art conference and event facilities, please visit: www.apexhotels.co.uk
