Abbey College Manchester hosted an international tour of Manchester last Tuesday (25 April) consolidating its international relationships and highlighting the city as a desirable location for future students.

Agents from Angola, Russia, Brazil, Nigeria, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Ukraine and Hong Kong were given a special tour of the city by officials from the independent college based off King Street.

The guests were given a preview of the stunning Riverside accommodation which the college has recently secured for a further three years. They then enjoyed a delightful lunch at the beautiful town hall before embarking on a walking tour around Manchester.

Following their sightseeing excursion, the agents met with some current Abbey College Manchester students who personally guided them around the college and told them all about their experience at the facility.

The trip was rounded off with a visit to Manchester United FC for an exclusive stadium tour and a two-course meal at the Red Café.

Principal at Abbey College Manchester, Liz Elam commented: “We had such a great day showing the international agents how wonderful our city is. We believe it is important to maintain strong relationships with other countries and cultures, which is something these visits help with.”

Abbey College is a leading independent college in the heart of Manchester, with a fast-growing and vibrant community.

There are around 220 students at the college, 65% of whom are from the local area with the remainder from other countries. The college offers A-Level, GCSE and International Foundation Programmes.
