Major European patent and trade mark attorney firm based in Bristol, Haseltine Lake, unveils its plans for a new year-long health and wellness programme, “HL Well!”.

Investing in the health and welfare of its employees, Haseltine Lake has created a series of fun and engaging challenges for the year ahead, with each month focusing on a different aspect of colleague wellbeing. Employees from the firm’s offices in London, Bristol, Munich and The Hague will all be involved in the challenges and will have access to an array of information sources about how to stay well at work.

Throughout 2017, a new theme will be introduced each month. The first focus for the year is “Let’s get moving”, aiming to encourage everyone in the firm to get up from their desks and move about the office. Pedometers have been provided and an inter team competition has led to greater use of the stairs, more standing meetings and phone calls, visits to the furthest possible watercoolers and lots of lunchtime walks. Other planned activities will focus on the themes of Back and Core Strength (February), Healthy Eating at Work (March) and Stress Management (April).

Commenting on the initiative, Lesley Evans, Chief Executive at Haseltine Lake, says, “The ideas for ‘HL Well!’ came from an employee consultation last year. Our colleagues care about their own health and wellbeing, and we want to show that we do too. ‘HL Well!’ has been designed as a year-long programme to support workplace wellbeing in a fun and engaging way and to maintain good awareness and spark a continuing debate within our business about ways to stay energised, motivated and healthy in the office. By introducing some team activities and some inter-team competitions, we hope to make it easy and enjoyable for people to get involved.”
