EUROSPORT Worldwide Sports TV Presenter and fitness expert Alexandra Legouix is hosting an online yoga and mindfulness group for a Southampton charity and is inviting people to sign-up this month (January 2022).

Alexandra, who is a wellbeing and fitness expert, is helping Options Wellbeing Trust with the sessions to promote better self-care, self-kindness and self-worth in the wake of the pandemic.

Wendy Lee, Head of Health and Wellbeing at the charity based on Dukes Road, explains:

“It’s wonderful to have such a big and well-known name as Alexandra on board for our online gentle yoga and self-care sessions, which are all about being kind to yourself and increasing self-worth. We’re putting on these groups to help people improve their overall self-care, which has probably been missing during the past two years.

“She has a wealth of knowledge and experience and is a wonderful instructor. Our sessions take place once a week starting on February 2 and have been designed specifically to help calm your mind, as well as relax and stretch your body.

“This six-session course, which is open to all adults and abilities, beginners are welcome, mixes aspects of meditation, mindfulness and yoga – all from the comfort of your own home!

“They are perfect for anyone who may be feeling isolated at the moment or is working from home and looking for a mindfulness retreat each week to focus on their self-care. It would also be great for parents needing a bit of calm and space to re-group when the children are at school.”

Alexandra is a qualified yoga teacher, who has written and presented five top-rated DVDs entitled ‘Yoga Made Simple’ and is the creator and host of the Mindset Unfiltered podcast.

She is also known as one of the most knowledgeable female presenters in motorsport having presented the live coverage for Eurosport Worldwide of the World Touring Car Cup for the past eight years.

Alongside this, she has also hosted the live stream shows and in-house videos for Aston Martin Cognizant F1 team, is Sports Presenter for Formula e, has hosted the Paddock Club for Williams F1 team and the Supercar Festival at Goodwood.

She has presided over numerous online events too, including the recent live Women in Motorsport discussion for the FIA, motorsports governing body.

Alexandra says:

“I’m delighted to be working with Options Wellbeing Trust, which is part of the not-for-profit enterprise Social Care in Action (SCiA) and has an excellent reputation for its mental health and wellbeing work in Southampton, Hampshire and Dorset.

“The sessions I will be hosting for the charity will help people to combat anxiety and depression and are ideal for relieving stress and promoting mindfulness.

“I would heartily recommend them to anyone who feels they need to soothe their mind at the moment, especially with all the concerns related to Covid and the last two years we’ve all been through. If you’re a homeworker, a retiree or a parent looking to de-stress, then a yoga/mindfulness activity like this will really set you up for your day.

“These sessions are open to all adults and are designed to calm your mind from the comfort of your own home. Once a week from 10-11am, from February 2, I will create a very relaxed, safe, and calming environment that welcomes everyone. We want you to feel comfortable in the sessions. You can even join in your pyjamas!”

Places at the six Options Wellbeing Trust yoga and mindfulness sessions, starting on February 2 from 10-11am, hosted by Alexandra, cost £33 per person.
