Husband and wife exploring and mindfulness team, Pete and Fleur Boxall, have brought their passion for walking, well-being and adventure together to launch, Kite Adventures. The unique, stress-reducing business is aimed at those who have a love of the great outdoors and want to enjoy the therapeutic benefits nature has to offer.

The couple decided to bring their innovative business idea to life after realising that their regular weekend walking trips were becoming more and more popular with extended friends and family each time they went away. Sharing a common interest of walking for pleasure, each noticed the positive impact the well-being weekends made to their busy and often stressful day to day lives. This led to a light-bulb moment and with an investment of £20,000, Kite Adventures was born.

The new venture, based in Bramhall, Cheshire, combines the couples’ professional and business experience with their passion as avid walkers, outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers, which first brought them together. They specialise in off-the-beaten-track well-being walking and adventure weekends, in the most beautiful areas of the UK, sharing the profound effect nature can have on the mind, body and soul.

Founder and business owner, Pete Boxall is a qualified hill and moorland walking leader and has been leading scout groups for over ten years on a variety of international and UK camps. His scout adventure trips have taken him to far flung locations including climbing Mount Fuji in Japan. He also uses his extensive business management experience to meticulously plan and jointly lead each group with his wife and business partner, Fleur.

Pete commented:

“Starting Kite Adventures has given me the opportunity to share my passion for walking, nature and adventure with others. With my scouting background, I’ve been likened to chief scout, Bear Grylls and I do share his no-fear sense of adventure.”

He continued:

“We want to make outdoor social adventure accessible to those who may not have the confidence, knowledge or time to create these experiences for themselves. Whether it’s a guided walking weekend in the Lake District or white-water rafting in North Wales, we provide a never to be forgotten experience with good food, a warm welcome and an environment that naturally brings people together be they solo travellers, couples, small groups or business employees on one of our corporate team building events.”

In addition to co-founding Kite Adventures, Fleur Boxall is an accredited mental health practitioner and has run her own busy and well-respected counselling practice for over ten years. She has always been drawn to nature and understands the powerful well-being benefits it can bring especially to those leading busy, hectic and stressful lives.

Fleur added:

“We forget the WIFI, phone signal and nine-to-five on our special well-being weekends. With my background as a trained mental health counsellor I know from personal experience the benefit that being at one with nature can bring. Our goal is to give those that come with us a fantastic and stimulating experience as well as a greater appreciation of the physical and mental health benefits the UK countryside offers.”

As well as the programme of walking and well-being weekends, Kite Adventures provide adventure and star-gazing weekends along with corporate team building day and overnight events, completely tailored to businesses objectives and specifications.

In keeping with their ethos and love of the countryside, all Kite Adventure’s activities respect the importance of protecting the environment and have a Leave No Trace policy to ensure impact on the environment is minimised as much as possible.

Kite Adventures calendar of events for 2020 can be found on their website. All are aimed to help people live happier and healthier lives by awakening a love of the great outdoors; wide open spaces, changing scenery, vast landscapes, open sky and nature at its very best.
