One of the UK’s leading barbers, with venues in four of the country’s biggest cities, opened its biggest store yet in Birmingham’s world-famous Bullring Shopping Centre to rapturous Bank Holiday crowds, including a few well-known faces.

Welcomed through the doors was Chef and owner of the Michelin-starred Adam's Restaurant, Adam Stokes, presenter of primetime drive time show on Heart FM, Steve Denyer, DJ, The Golden Boy Dominic Hammonds and The Rainbow’s resident DJ Bunny Warren.

Talking about his experience, Adam Stokes said:

“It was great to meet the team at BarberBarber, they’re certainly a friendly bunch of characters. They’ve got a great product up and running and it’s a great addition to the Bullrings great range of shops and services. I wish them the best of luck in the future; I can certainly recommend them for a dapper gentleman’s haircut!”

During the launch week, as well as Johnny, some of the world’s leading barber’s were on hand to offer their services and support, including stylists to the stars, Dale Ted Watkins, Adee Phelan, celebrity hairdresser and famous for creating David Beckham’s Mohawk, and Sam Donnelly, owner of Sam’s barbershop in Dublin and global ambassador for the Movember campaign.

BarberBarber is the brainchild of Johnny ‘The Baba’ Shanahan, who cut his teeth, so to speak, in the local Barbers in his home town of Limerick. The ultimate luxury for both ‘scoundrels and gentlemen’ alike, Johnny’s vision for BarberBarber has always been to draw on their extensive knowledge of the craft of men's haircutting and bespoke shaving to offer visitors impeccable service in luxurious surroundings.

Johnny opened the first BarberBarber UK store in Manchester in 2013, and its success has given rise to another four since, located in London, Liverpool, and Leeds. With a company turnover of £3.5 million and employing 75 members of staff, the new kid in town looks set to continue its success in Birmingham.

Birmingham’s BarberBarber is a haven for the everyday man, as staff work hard to create a relaxing and friendly, yet professional, environment on Birmingham’s new Link Street, aptly named as it links Grand Central and the Bullring, and to deliver the very best service, from complementary beverages to bespoke haircuts and shaving.

Johnny explains;

“I remember my Grandad taking me as a young boy to the local barbers, and it’s such a fond, nostalgic part of my childhood that I really wanted to keep that tradition going and give other young gentleman the opportunity to make similar memories.

“Customer service is at the heart of BarberBarber’s offering, from the very first greeting to the professional atmosphere and standard of service we offer. I don’t care who you are, every customer of ours is a VIP and will receive the best service, from the person washing your hair to the talented barber who cuts it.

“That’s what the good people of Birmingham can expect from us. We don’t do appointments, we do walk-ups, so if you’re in need of haircut and a bit of R&R, we’re your men.”

The people behind BarberBarber are an ambitious lot and, for as long as they enjoy bringing their offering to style-conscious gentlemen, have plans to expand across the country, and maybe even the world.

As well as bespoke hair dressing, BarberBarber also offer precision beard sculpting, traditional cut-throat shave and a ‘Lil Rascal’s Shampoo Cut and Finnish’.
