Rethinking the workplace to increase opportunities for women is the subject of a new podcast sponsored by the Manchester office of national law firm Clarke Willmott LLP.

The recording, co-organised by Women in The Law UK and Northern Power Women, tackles gender inequality and how organisations can increase opportunities for women.

The panel discussion is hosted by BBC Radio 5 presenter Sam Walker and was recorded at Clarke Willmott’s offices in Spring Gardens, Manchester.

Panel member, Helen Wong MBE, partner at Clarke Willmott, said:

“It was wonderful to meet other like-minded individuals and look at how to overcome barriers.

“Many women still face obstacles in equal opportunities and it is important to consider the sort of workplace should we expect in the future.

“Clarke Willmott is committed to work-life balance, agile working and investment in technology which are all essential to ensure a level playing field.”

Among the speakers were Simone Roche MBE, founder of Northern Power Women, and barrister Sally Penni, who established Women in The Law UK.

The podcast looks at transport connectivity across the North, the responsibility employers must take for the mental health of staff and why there are so few women at the top in law.
