Two local intellectual property professionals, Helen Henderson and Laurie Bray, have been officially recognised for their achievements and their contribution to increasing awareness of the importance of patent and trade mark rights across industry sectors.

Both senior associates at Withers & Rogers’ Bristol office, Helen Henderson, patent attorney, and Laurie Bray, trade mark attorney, have been listed in Managing IP’s 2022 Rising Stars rankings. Published annually, the rankings recognise up-and-coming talent from across the intellectual property profession, based on their expertise and individual contribution to the sector.

This includes advising how to secure commercial protection for innovations in fields such as molecular biology, cell culture, regenerative medicine, antibodies and cancer immunology and many more.

Laurie’s work sees her dealing with all aspects of trade mark clearance, protection and prosecution across a diverse range commercial sector clients including businesses providing financial and charitable services, as well as food and drink operators and retail businesses.

Helen Henderson, patent attorney at European intellectual property firm, Withers & Rogers, said:

“To be recognised as a Rising Star is incredibly rewarding and I hope that my achievements will encourage other young female engineers and scientists to consider a career in intellectual property.”

Laurie Bray, trade mark attorney at European intellectual property firm, Withers & Rogers, said:

“Withers & Rogers is a great place to work - you can be advising a tech-led startup one day, and a large multinational the next, about how to protect their brand identity in their chosen markets. It’s exciting work in a thriving area of professional practice.”
