South coast law firm Steele Raymond has welcomed Roisin Fisher, a newly qualified solicitor, into its leading Commercial Property team.

Dorset-born Roisin has been a key part of the Commercial Property Team for a number of years. Roisin joined the team as a legal secretary in 2016 shortly after achieving a First Class Honours degree in Law at the University of Sussex. Roisin was quickly promoted to paralegal, before being offered a training contract. Roisin has worked closely with the team’s partners prior to her Legal Practice Course which she completed with Distinction at Bournemouth University and during her training contract.

Roisin started her training contract with the firm in 2018 and qualified as a solicitor in 2020.

Roisin said:

“I am very pleased to be joining such a successful commercial property team. For many the draw to train at city law firms is too strong to refuse but for me it felt right to stay with Steele Raymond where I can experience high quality work, alongside a supportive and successful team whilst retaining a work life balance (not to mention we work and live by the beach!). I have had some fantastic experience over the last few years assisting the team’s partners with significant transactions and I am delighted to be continuing my career upon qualification with such a forward-thinking firm.”

Roisin joins the 19-strong commercial property team specialising in acting for commercial property investors, developers, occupiers and lenders in relation to all aspects of their commercial property interests.

Chris Twaits, Partner and head of the Commercial Property team, said:

“We recognised very quickly that Roisin was going to have a bright legal career ahead of her. Although recently qualified Roisin has been a key member of the team for a number of years and we are delighted that she has chosen to continue her career here with us at Steele Raymond.”

Steele Raymond has a very strong track-record of nurturing talent with three of the firm’s partners, Chairman Tim Stone, Nick Davies and Craig Hardman, all starting their careers as trainee solicitors at the firm. The firm has been nominated for three consecutive years at the national LawCareers.Net Training & Recruitment Awards.

Commercial Property Partner and the firm’s Training Principal Jennifer Rogerson said:

“We always pride ourselves on the hands-on training we provide for the next generation of solicitors. We have a genuine commitment to organic growth through our training programme and I’m extremely pleased when talented trainee solicitors decide to continue their legal careers with us. Roisin is yet another example of the journey from legal secretary to paralegal to trainee solicitor to solicitor and we look forward to seeing the development of her bright future with the firm.”
