National law firm Shakespeare Martineau has increased its rankings in the 2022 edition of the Chambers High Net Worth Guide, which showcases the leading private wealth lawyers and law firms.

The team has consolidated its top tier rankings in Leicester, as well as its strong showing in Birmingham and Nottingham, with commentators highlighting Shakespeare Martineau as providing ‘high-quality work and advice delivered in a very responsive way’. The guide also highlighted the team’s willingness to adapt and respond to any circumstances it faces.

There was individual recognition for several of partners and lawyers including partners Suzanne Leggott, who was ranked band 1, Lesley Davis, Hannah Tait, Verity Kirby and consultant Anne Tromans.

Partners Andrew Wilkinson, who also ranked band 1 and leads Shakespeare Martineau’s private wealth disputes team, and Debra Burton were also recognised and commended for their highly-specialised work.

Suzanne Leggott, head of Shakespeare Martineau’s private client team, said:

“This is great news for the teams across our hubs, recognising the commitment of our lawyers to their clients and the level and quality of the advice and support we give.

“It was also excellent for us to secure two new rankings too for our private client offering across our Solihull and Milton Keynes hubs – consolidating our status as one of the leading law firms for complex, private wealth work across the Midlands and beyond.”

Shakespeare Martineau is a national firm with hubs in Sheffield, Lincoln, Nottingham, Leicester, Birmingham, London, Milton Keynes, Stratford-upon-Avon, Bristol, Solihull and Edinburgh.

Its private client team is a Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Employer Partner, which is a mark of quality for trusts and estate businesses globally, and was awarded its platinum accreditation – the highest of three accreditation levels. The team is also ranked tier 1 for personal tax, trusts and probate in East Midlands and West Midlands in the independently-research Legal 500.
