More New Joiners At Smith & Williamson In Bristol

Financial and professional services firm Smith & Williamson has welcomed the latest batch of new faces to its Bristol office.


The four appointments have been made across a variety of teams and levels of seniority within the firm.


James Barrell has become an associate director in the assurance and business services team after joining Smith & Williamson from RSM, and Karen Baber has joined from BDO as a senior manager in business outsourcing services.


Meanwhile Dimitri Kyriazis joined as a graduate trainee in pension audit and Danielle Rolt as a trainee chartered accountant.


More than 30 people have joined Smith & Williamson in Bristol in recent months, while there has also been a raft of senior appointments and promotions.


These include those of Zoe Thomas as head of business tax in Bristol, Louise Thornhill as head of investment management in Bristol and Nigel Hardy as head of assurance and business services in Bristol.


Meanwhile Kelly Jones has been appointed a partner in assurance and business services (ABS), with Helen Bassett and Marcus Graham being made directors in ABS and transaction services respectively. Most recently, David Gage, head of VAT and real estate at Smith & Williamson in Bristol, has been appointed a director.


“James Barrell brings with him a vast amount of experience of auditing SMEs,” said Nigel Hardy.

“He has worked at two major mid-tier firms and sees Smith & Williamson as the place to further his career due to its focus on working with fast-growth businesses.”


Helen Bassett, who heads the business outsourcing services team in Bristol, said:

“Karen Baber is another addition to our Bristol office from a mid-tier firm and has extensive account and outsourcing experience. She has been taken on to strengthen our growing business outsourcing services team at a senior level.”
