One of Milsted Langdon’s leading lights in the online accounting world will be sharing his knowledge of the emerging technology at this year’s Accountex Show.

Chris Downing, the firm’s Business Intelligence Manager, will be appearing on the mainstage at the show alongside Julia Wedgewood and Coulson Grieveson, from leading software provider Sage.

Chris, who was previously named the Accounting Web Practice Excellence Technology Champion, will be talking about the implementation of online accounting software and its benefits, as well as its vital role in relation to the Government’s Making Tax Digital plans.

He will also be available during the show, which takes place on 10 -11 May 2017 at ExCeL London, to take questions from the hundreds of delegates who attend and will feature in an article in the show’s main guide.

Speaking ahead of the event, Chris said: “Online accounting is the future of our profession and has been seen as an emerging technology for some time.

“However, with the Government’s plans to take tax online by the end of the decade many firms are finally waking up to the challenges it poses.

“At Milsted Langdon we have been investing in and using online accounting technology for some time now and I am delighted that one of the industry’s leading providers, Sage, has invited me to join senior members of its team on the main stage at this year’s Accountex.”

Milsted Langdon is taking a very proactive approach to the Government’s Making Tax Digital plans, and as an earlier adopter of cloud-based online accounting is leading the way in offering services to clients.

Chris is also looking forward to speaking at a number of events this year, including the Alternative Accountancy Strategic IT Conference and the ICAEW Making Tax Digital Software Advisory Group, as he spreads the message about online accounting and its benefits.
