Marktlink, the independent mid-market mergers and acquisitions (M&A) lead advisory firm, has grown its UK Midlands team with the appointment of M&A Director, Alex Thompson, and M&A Consultant, Hamish Moore.

The firm, which expanded to the UK Midlands in November last year, has also secured a second office in the region following the opening of its office in the central Birmingham business district. Located on the Pegasus Business Park in Nottingham, the second site will enable Marktlink to service business owners across both the East and West Midlands, with experienced specialised advisers.

The Nottingham office is Marktlink's seventeenth, and the third in the UK following Manchester and Birmingham. Marktlink is committed to supporting UK business owners and has plans to invest further within key regions across the UK. This expansion follows offices recently established in Zurich and Munich respectively and further strengthens Marktlink's proposition to clients, providing access to 50 deal teams across six countries, and addresses an increasing appetite for cross-border opportunities.

Alex joins with over 12 years of experience working with owner-managed and private equity-backed businesses. Awarded East Midlands Emerging Dealmaker of the Year in 2021, he has spent the last seven years originating and advising clients on all aspects of M&A and value creation.

With specific experience in TMT, business services, and industrials, Alex has experience successfully leading the execution of various mid-market transactions up to £100 million in value. Alongside the Midlands team, he will now be responsible for expanding Marktlink's presence in the region and creating value for business owners seeking a corporate transaction.

With seven years of experience, including time at BDO and EY, Hamish Moore joins Marktlink from Credit Suisse where he was an Equity Research Associate. Hamish will support business owners looking to secure the best future for their business.
