A Lichfield family-run firm of solicitors has revealed it’s expanding by taking on new staff.

Adcocks Solicitors in Lombard Street, which marked its impressive 110th anniversary earlier this year, has made its first new appointment since the UK came out of lockdown.

The future is continuing to look bright for Adcocks with solicitor Kerry Davies joining the firm, which was founded in West Bromwich and also boasts an office in Birmingham and client facilities in West Bromwich.

The 40-year-old, who hails from Rugeley, spent 18 years working for a law practice in Cumbria and Lancashire, before recently returning to her hometown in Staffordshire to be closer to family.

New appointment will bolster niche firm’s family law team

Kerry, who joins the firm as Head of its Private Client Services department, always wanted to be a solicitor and now specialises in all areas of probate, court of protection work and family law, said:

“My husband and I are originally from Rugeley and when we decided to move back to the area, I wanted to join a firm not dissimilar to my previous one and Adcocks fitted the bill.

“Everyone’s been lovely and welcoming, so I already feel like I’ve settled in.”

Kerry, who enjoys watching live music, eating out and “entertaining” her Spaniel, added that she was most looking forward to:

“continuing past successes and hopefully building upon the foundations established by the Adcock family and their colleagues, as well as assisting with training junior staff.”

Continuing to build on strong foundations

Welcoming Kerry to the Adcocks’ family, the founder’s grandson, Senior Director Mark Adcock, said:

“We are delighted to reveal we are expanding and to welcome Kerry to the family. She will be a great addition to our private client law team.

“Especially so as she brings with her experience in a new area of private client work for us, namely divorce and family law an area we haven’t covered for many years.

“I’m very pleased that we have been able to recruit someone of Kerry’s calibre to the practice to manage and grow our private client services.

“After an unprecedented few months, we are thrilled to be looking ahead towards building on our strong foundations in the West Midlands in what is a very special year for us, our 110th in business.”

“Despite our age, our values haven’t changed,”

Mark added.

“We know that what makes us successful are the people who our clients engage with. The feedback from so many happy clients is the proof we have the culture right.”

Kerry’s appointment follows the news that one of the firm’s paralegals, Maddie Williams, completed her LPC (Legal Practice Course) with a distinction.
