Leading North West law firm Butcher & Barlow welcomes two new Dispute Resolution specialists

The Legal 500 ranked Commercial & Property Dispute Resolution Teams have been strengthened by the arrival of two exceptional young specialists. Natalie Dean and Anna Abell join the Firm’s dedicated commercial office from Chester based Knights.


The specialist Commercial Disputes team was formed back in 2014 with the establishment of the Gadbrook Park, Northwich office. Since then, the Team, led by experienced Partner Alex Sandland, has developed and expanded significantly to support two distinct functions – commercial disputes and property disputes. The Gadbrook Park team is now 9 strong, including the lead Partner, three solicitors, two paralegals and three assistants. The team is well placed to be able to provide advice and assistance on a broad range of disputes.


Natalie Dean joins Butcher & Barlow as a Solicitor specialising in Commercial Dispute Resolution. Natalie has experience in acting for both businesses and individuals in the dispute resolution area, one unique area being equine litigation.


Prior to working at Butcher & Barlow, Natalie studied BSc (Hons) Equine Science at Reaseheath College, before studying for her legal qualification at the University of Law, Chester which culminated in her qualification as a Solicitor in 2019.


Anna Abell joins the team as a paralegal, specialising in Property Disputes. Anna will work alongside Solicitors Catherine Gregson and James Holton on a variety of property disputes including matters such as lease renewals, terminations and dilapidations, rights of way, restrictive covenants and ownership disputes.


Anna graduated from Cardiff University in 2016 with a degree in Law, and has completed the LPC and a joint Masters at the University of Law in Chester. She has previous experience as a Paralegal in Corporate, Residential Conveyancing and Commercial Property teams providing her with a solid background and understanding of a many aspects of law, all of which will contribute to her success at the Firm.
