A leading Manchester law firm has recovered more than £5m in damages this year for those living in sub-standard properties around the country.
Veritas Solicitors navigated a wide spectrum of cases ranging from structural deficiencies to severe mould infestations adversely affecting the living conditions of numerous UK residents.
The settlements achieved by the firm's Housing Disrepair team based in Cardinal House, were all over the course of 2023.
By facilitating these settlements, Veritas Solicitors has obtained justice for its clients and helped alleviate hundreds of families from the hardships of living in terrible conditions.
Faraz Fazal, Managing Partner at Veritas Solicitors, said: "We believe in fighting for the rights of our clients, many of whom have been forced to endure unacceptable living conditions for far too long.
"Our success in settling these cases is a testament to the perseverance and dedication of our entire team.
"The focus for our firm has always been on ensuring justice for our clients. The recovery of over £5m in damages within the past 12 months underscores our unwavering commitment to championing the rights of individuals facing housing disrepair issues. I'm extremely proud of our efforts."
As Veritas celebrates its achievements in settling HDR cases, the firm also emphasizes its significant growth as a business.
The increased caseload and success in securing justice for clients has contributed to the firm's expansion, further cementing their reputation as a leader in the sector.
Having opened its doors in 2007, the firm has been growing rapidly, and last month announced it was expanding its housing disrepair department by an extra 70 staff.
It will take the housing team to more than 140 strong as the firm sees a spike in the number of people wanting to take legal action against their landlords.
Veritas has earned a reputation as experts in addressing issues related to housing disrepair, financial mis-selling, personal injury, and clinical negligence.
Its dedication to technology-driven processes has resulted in the recovery of millions of pounds for its clients since 2007.
Anticipating expansion, the firm envisions the creation of additional departments to encompass immigration, industrial disease, commercial, and employment law as part of its growth strategy.
Speaking about this year's success within the housing departments, Mr Fazal added: "Our journey has not only been about growing as a business but also about growing as a team, as individuals, and as advocates for justice.
"Our commitment to clients and the causes we champion has been the driving force behind our business growth.
"While celebrating our successes, we remain steadfast in our commitment to achieving justice for victims. Our resolve is unwavering, and we see each settled case as a building block toward a more just legal landscape.
"The satisfaction of our clients is highly motivating, and we'll continue to tirelessly advocate for their rights."
