Arthur J. Gallagher, specialists in risk management and commercial insurance solutions, has appointed Guy Mills as managing director of its Newall Street-based Birmingham branch.

His appointment to lead the nearly 90-strong team is an internal promotion for Guy, who started with the business 12 years ago, as a trainee account executive. Since then, Guy has progressed through the ranks to his most recent position as head of the corporate insurance division in Birmingham.

In his new role, as managing director, Guy will oversee the operations of the Newhall Street branch, where teams focus on meeting the risk management and insurance broking needs of local and regional businesses. They offer expertise in a number of specialist sectors including, but not limited to, real estate and property management, as well as construction and manufacturing, whilst catering for businesses of all sizes, from SMEs to mid-corporates and large corporates.
