Haines Watts Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors in Leicester are delighted to announce that as a result of continued growth and development of the firm, two senior members of the team became Partners on 1st April 2018.

Shazin Tayub is a qualified Tax Technician and Chartered Tax Advisor who has risen quickly through the ranks since joining Haines Watts in 2014. Consolidating the knowledge and experience he gained whilst in a tax advisory role at Grant Thornton, he has led the way in providing owner managed businesses and individuals in Leicestershire with crucial tax and business advice.

Having grown the Tax department of Haines Watts Leicester substantially over the last few years and being influential in driving forward the growth of the office, Shazin has become an integral member of the team.

He enjoys the challenge of working with a diverse portfolio of clients offering tax planning and compliance services and has more recently expanded the Research and Development team with the appointment of two R&D experts who have spent time in industry and are therefore well placed to understand businesses and identify where there may be opportunities to obtain R&D tax incentives.

Shaz comments

“I am extremely pleased that my contribution has been recognised and with the opportunity and challenges this promotion will bring. I really enjoy working with clients to find out what issues they have and take great satisfaction in providing them with a range of solutions. Haines Watts has grown substantially both nationally and locally over the past few years and I am looking forward to being a part of the continued growth and development moving forward.”

Richard Buckby has been with the firm since 2012 where he has overseen the growth of the audit and accounts team which has doubled in size in that time. Whilst he has been growing his portfolio of clients in a variety of sectors, he has a keen interest in the NFP sector and has been instrumental in developing the level of service we offer to charities and academy clients.

He comments

“I am delighted to take this next step in my career with Haines Watts and to take on the challenge of developing the business even further. The Haines Watts Leadership Development Programme which I completed two years ago allowed me to acquire skills which I have been able to apply to the development of the business. I am looking forward to this next stage of growth and expanding the NFP and Digital Accounting parts of the business as we take it forward into the digital future”

Senior Partner, Sanjay Khullar, commented

“Richard and Shaz both have the necessary leadership skills and expertise required by a partner of the firm and have been influential in developing our growth strategy. I am looking forward to working with them both more closely on expanding our client services even further and reaching our objective of becoming the number one advisor to SME businesses in Leicestershire.”
