The finance director at the UK’s leading medical negligence and personal injury law firm, Fletchers Solicitors, has been named one of England’s most influential women at the North’s inaugural Women’s awards.

Alex Lynch beat off stiff competition from nine other nominees to win the category of ‘Services to accounting and finance’ at the English Women’s Awards – North, which were held at Manchester’s Mercure Piccadilly Hotel on Monday 19th March.

The awards acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of British Women, including female entrepreneurs, civil servants, charity founders amongst other professionals, whose hard work, talent and commitment is often under-represented. They also intend to provide an opportunity and platform for women to inspire others through their successes.

This is the first time the event has been held in England, following the success of the Scottish Women’s Awards 2017.

Alex Lynch, finance director at Fletchers Solicitors, said:

“I am extremely honoured to have won such a prestigious award, especially given the calibre of the other nominees. There are so many women doing amazing work, and it is encouraging to see that their talents and efforts are increasingly being celebrated. The women nominated for the English Women’s Awards represent just a small snapshot of all the fantastic successes that the ladies of the world are constantly achieving.”

Irfan Younis, CEO of Creative Oceanic, which organised the awards, said:

“For far too long, women have not received enough appreciation for everything that they manage and achieve, despite the odds they often have to overcome. With this year marking 100 years since the vote for women, we felt that this was the perfect time to launch this awards ceremony and celebrate the outstanding achievements of the North’s most influential women.”

Funds raised during the ceremony will be donated to the official charity partner, Smart Works, an organisation that empowers women in need by providing them with the attire, advice, training and confidence that they need to unlock their potential and success in the workplace.
