Gary Carrington, chief financial officer of Fletchers Solicitors, has been named Finance Director of the Year at the Robert Walters Finance Awards North West 2019.
Taking place at The Hilton in Manchester, the annual awards celebrate the outstanding achievements within the region's finance community, with businesses and individuals recognised for their efforts across 13 categories.
Gary was the winner of the ‘Finance Director at a business with a turnover of £25 to £100 million’ category, having shown a demonstrable legacy of delivery in financial performance, leadership and management.
The award comes just a few weeks after it was revealed that Fletchers Solicitors has maintained its place in the Top 100 UK law firms for the second year running.
The prestigious list, published by The Lawyer, ranks law firms by revenue, and reflects increases in both turnover and profit for Fletchers over the past financial year.
As the company continues its growth across its Southport and Manchester offices, figures from the end of year accounts show that in the last financial year turnover has increased by over 10%, taking it to £29.2m.
Gary joined Fletchers Solicitors in 2014 as finance director. He is now chief financial and commercial officer and works with the fee earning teams to ensure they reach their performance objectives.
Prior to his role at Fletchers, Gary held senior positions at some of the UK’s largest accountancy firms, including Baker Tilly (now RSM), where he was a key member of the Professional Practices Group.
