DAS Expands Marketing and Communications Team

Leading legal expenses insurer DAS, has announced the appointment of four new members of staff - Karl Blockwell, Josh Gater, Alex Taylor and Alison Whitcombe - to its Marketing department based at the company’s headquarters in Bristol.


Karl Blockwell has been appointed as Marketing and Communications Manager and will oversee the organisation’s marketing and communications strategy.

Karl, who has over 20 years of PR and marketing experience and has held various roles with major brands such as Vodafone, Virgin, NatWest and Capita, will report directly to Head of Marketing Communications & Brand, Paul Mills.


Josh Gater has been appointed as new Social Media Executive and will manage the company’s social channels and ongoing social media strategy.

Josh, who will report to Digital Delivery Manager Mark Branton, previously worked for the global agency Harte Hanks, where he worked on a range of accounts for technology firms such as IBM.


Alex Taylor, DAS’ new Creative Copywriter, will report directly to Karl Blockwell.

He is a seasoned copywriter with over 15 years of experience working in the legal and financial services industries and holds a Law LLB Hons from the University of Liverpool.


Alison Whitcombe is the new Propositions Manager at DAS and will be responsible for developing DAS’ ATE (After The Event) propositions.

Alison, who will report to Head of Customer Propositions Robin Stagg, brings over 32 years of experience to the role. 

Prior to joining DAS she was a Senior Manager at TSB, and before this she held various roles at Nationwide and Lloyds Banking Group Insurance Division.
