Chrissie Wolfe Shortlisted For Junior Lawyer Of The Year Award, 2019

Chrissie Wolfe, a solicitor from Birmingham office of Irwin Mitchell has been shortlisted for the 2019 Junior Lawyer of the Year Award. Part of the prestigious Law Society Excellence Awards, the winners will be revealed at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London on 23 October.

October is set to be a busy month for Chrissie, who will also be attending the Downtown In Business City of Birmingham Business Awards on 17 October, where she is a finalist in the 2019 Woman of the Year Award.

This latest success comes in the wake of Chrissie winning Solicitor of the Year 2019 at the Birmingham Law Society Awards in March and is another high profile boost for the city’s female lawyers, who are being recognised regionally and nationally for their achievements.

The Law Society Excellence Awards have been celebrating the hard work and inspirational achievements of solicitors, legal teams and firms of all sizes across England and Wales for the past 12 years. The awards are fiercely contested and making the shortlist is no easy task.

This year has seen a record breaking number of nominations and to make the shortlist for a second year running Chrissie had to demonstrate an exceptional standard of work. Those shortlisted must be able to show the judges they go far beyond what is expected of a junior lawyer by proving they bring flair, imagination, insight and hard work to all they do.

A member of the Irwin Mitchell personal injury team, Chrissie specialises in international claims and in addition to supporting individual clients injured on holiday or working abroad, Chrissie has also worked on group claims, including major incidents such as the Costa Concordia disaster. Chrissie has her own niche specialism, representing victims of cosmetic surgery abroad, for whom she has achieved significant results in 2019. Chrissie still finds time however to Chair the Birmingham branch of the Junior Lawyers’ Division, The Birmingham Solicitors Group.

Commenting on her shortlisting, Chrissie Wolfe said:

“These awards recognise lawyers and firms at the very top of their game and to be shortlisted among such impressive and inspiring candidates achieving incredible things for our profession is a true honour. I am grateful for the support from my IM colleagues and wider professional network with the nomination and I look forward to representing the IM family on the night!”

Lisa Jordan, regional managing partner in the Birmingham Office, said:

“Even by her very high standards, Chrissie is having an exceptional year. To be shortlisted twice in a row in such prestigious company is no small achievement, but given her well-deserved success at the Birmingham Law Society Awards in March, it’s not a surprise. Chrissie is an amazing lawyer and proves we have some of the finest young legal minds in the country in Birmingham. We all wish her the best of luck for the final.”
