Founded by Birmingham born Robert Simpson FCCA in 2017, Robert followed his dream of setting up a client focused, technology driven accounting firm after leaving his Senior Manager role at the 'big four' firm KPMG. Keen to offer a range of professional opportunities across the local Birmingham area, Robert was joined in May 2019 by Birmingham based Adam Wright ACCA FMAAT, a Chartered Certified Accountant and fellow member of the Association of Accounting Technicians. As Associate Director of Avonmead, Adam (also from KPMG) is focused on growing the Birmingham practice and developing the team’s resource, so it can constantly expand on the innovative vision for Avonmead.
Recently, Avonmead made a move to bigger offices at The Colmore Building, in the centre of Birmingham, which has excellent transport links via the metro service and a short 5-minute walk to New Street Train Station. The new offices are a fantastic working environment from which to meet and greet clients, as well enabling the growth ambitions of Avonmead’s core team.
With the flexibility of a larger office, Avonmead is pleased to announce it has expanded its team and is now joined by James Faulkner as Manager. Bringing a wealth of experience from his previous roles, James began his career with a contractor specialist accountancy firm, working with a large client portfolio and delivering a range of services. James then moved to KPMG and spent over four years working with SMEs across a variety of sectors. James’s key appointment supports Avonmead’s aim to provide expert and specialist knowledge to further support Avonmead’s ever expanding client base.
As James suggests;
“I’m looking forward to managing the growing team, and having a real input in to the way services are delivered to clients. My previous experience has given me a great understanding of what clients want, need and the best way to deliver this to them.
Delivering a fully UK based service to clients in order to support their businesses and help them grow is what I feel will be the most rewarding part of joining the team at Avonmead. Our aim is to take the accounting admin and technical burden from the client - freeing up their time to run their business properly and supporting them with accurate figures to make informed business decisions.”
By advocating innovation, transparency and professionalism, Avonmead is delivering on its aim to bolster the team to 5 full time employees through organic growth within 18 months. This means over the next 12 months the Accountancy Practice in Birmingham will continue to expand as it looks to take on two more team members
