Addleshaw Goddard partner Mike O'Connor is taking up a new leadership role following his appointment to succeed Malcolm Pike as Head of Addleshaw Goddard's Manchester office. The three-year term of office is effective from 1 May 2018.
Throughout his 30-year career, Mike has played a formative role in many of the Region's highest profile inward investment and regeneration projects, most recently advising Trafford Council on its UA92 University scheme with Bruntwood, Gary Neville and Lancaster University, and Beijing Construction & Engineering Group on its participation in the joint venture at Manchester Airport City.
Mike joined Addleshaw Sons & Latham as a trainee in 1987, becoming a Partner in 1996, when he established the firms Infrastructure, Projects & Energy team which he has led for 22 years. Mike will combine his new leadership responsibilities with his client facing roles specialising in health, inward investment and regeneration.
With 30 years' experience in the field, Mike is recognised as a leading expert on public-private and project finance transactions, working for a wide range of public sector bodies, private sector sponsors and operators as well as third party funders.
In the North West, Mike is an experienced non-executive director of North West Ambulance NHS Trust, a Director Trustee of Factory Youth Zone and Chair of the Board of Trustees of Manchester Concert Hall (The Bridgewater Hall).

Earlier this year, Addleshaw Goddard announced a number of high profile investments, reaffirming its commitment to and desire to lead the North West legal community. A team of six real estate partners is joining from Irwin Mitchell, together with two partners and six other lawyers from DWFs Manchester Construction practice. In AGs recent round of partner promotions, of the nine new partners, three are from Manchester.
