Apprenticeships provide a cost-effective way to develop your workforce and bring essential expertise in to your organisation.

Building on over 30 years of experience delivering flexible distance learning programmes, the University of Leicester School of Business are delighted to launch a new Level 7 Senior Leadership Apprenticeship starting on Monday 8 April 2024.

Open to applications from organisations of all sizes and sectors, the Senior Leader Apprenticeship, is funded through the UK Government's Apprenticeship Levy and aims to support organisations wanting to build leadership capacity within their teams and individuals who are currently in, or moving into, strategic management roles.

Providing the flexibility of online learning combined with opportunities for on-campus study, the apprenticeship is designed to be completed partly during work time with organisational support.

Upon successful completion, alongside the apprenticeship award, apprentices gain a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) with the option to undertake a further 6-months of study on the Leicester MBA, leading to an AMBA-accredited MBA qualification.

The Senior Leader Apprenticeship is studied over two years, with apprentices studying four 6-month modules including:

    1. Managing and Development People and Organisations

    2. Managing Value Creation Processes from Idea to Market

    3. Managing Finance and Strategic Decision-Making

    4. Strategic Leadership

Alongside these, one practical module is undertaken throughout the duration of the programme.

The apprenticeship is suitable for new or existing staff members working at least 30 hours a week who require development at a senior leadership level. Senior Leader Apprentices will also need at least three years of management or professional experience alongside an undergraduate degree with a class of 2:2 or better or an equivalent professional qualification.
