SMB College Group and Toyota Material Handling UK are joining forces to train the next generation of Forklift Engineers through a range of apprenticeship opportunities across the UK.

With 19 roles available across 18 locations, the apprenticeships will train learners in Level 3 Forklift Engineering, giving them an excellent basis to progress into a successful career in the vehicle engineering industry.

Roles are available across a variety of locations, from Leicester and Melton Mowbray to Bristol and Gloucester, and many more.

Amit Mistry, Technical Training and Product Engineer, at Toyota Material Handling UK, said of the apprenticeships programmes: ‘Forklift truck service engineers play a crucial role in maintaining Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to highest standards, reduce downtime and keep the operation running smoothly, which in turn keeps the whole logistic operation moving forward.

‘Currently there is a shortage of skilled forklift truck service engineers. Forklift truck apprenticeship standards were developed to fill the skills gap in the industry. Having worked with MHE apprentices for over a decade, I believe that this apprenticeship offers a great opportunity to jump start your career with prospects of progression in the industry.'
