Bookings are now live for the STFC Daresbury Laboratory Apprenticeship Open Evening 2024, Thursday, February 8th at 5-8pm.
Daresbury Laboratory, part of the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), will once again open its doors to students and those looking to explore their next steps towards their future career.
Whether you have just left school or college, want a change of direction, or are seeking a challenging alternative to university, Daresbury Laboratory offers an exciting range of apprenticeship opportunities.
The event will showcase the range of excellent opportunities available, with world class training and the opportunity to earn while you learn.
Accredited training in an exciting range of opportunities
Apprentices at Daresbury Laboratory participate in real, cutting-edge science and engineering projects, and support exciting international collaborations around the world.
It is currently recruiting for apprentices in an exciting variety of areas and roles, including:
- engineering: (level 3): mechanical, electrical and electronic, and machining
- computing (levels 4 and 6): DevOps and software engineering, network engineering
- project management
- laboratory technician
- business administration
During the open evening, attendees will have the chance to find out more about each of these career paths directly from the departments, current apprentices, training providers and the Apprenticeship team.

STFC's Michelle Smith, Senior Apprenticeship Coordinator at Daresbury Laboratory, said:

Located in the Borough of Halton, at Sci-Tech Daresbury in the Liverpool City Region, Daresbury Laboratory apprentices have the real opportunity to pursue their interests and passion, whilst gaining access to additional core skills development, alongside potential opportunities for overseas placement.
