A Solihull girls’ football team has announced its latest signing - a shirt sponsorship deal with manufacturers’ organisation, Make UK.

Solihull FC Girls is a new under 12s team, competing in the Central Warwickshire Girls League, with its home matches at Old Silhillians Rugby Club. It will be the first girls’ team to play regular matches there.

Team manager, Michael Poole, commented:

“The recent FIFA Women’s World Cup has really boosted the profile of the game, and it’s a hugely growing sport. Junior football is a very hand to mouth sport, and goodwill from organisations like Make UK plays a huge part.”

Fiona McGarry, Engagement Manager at Make UK, added:

“We are delighted that our support has been used to fund the kits for the team, and wish them every success for the new season.”

Make UK, the Manufacturers’ Organisation, champions engineering and manufacturing across the UK. Its Make UK Technology Hub, located in Aston, Birmingham, is a development and training centre for apprentices and professionals in manufacturing and engineering.
