Gas Engineering Apprentices at SMB College Group's Stephenson Campus have recently started their Resideo Academy heating controls learning program for UK college students, which will be a 6-module bolt-on to their college programme running over two years.

Delivered by Resideo Trainer, Steve Thompson, this industry-relevant addition to their apprenticeship qualification will allow the students to learn about thermostats, underfloor heating, valves, and the important legislation underpinning all of these.

SMB College Group's work with the company began in 2022, when the college became the first in the UK to collaborate with Resideo under their Resideo Academy training program. The aim of the collaboration has been to bring new technology developments into the classroom, training the next generation of Plumbers and Heating Engineers on the latest products and services in the industry and enhancing employability.

Gas Apprentices at SMB College Group work for a variety of companies, both locally and nationally, working full-time for their employer and attending college on a block-release basis to increase their industry knowledge and gain their nationally-recognised qualification.
