STUDENTS from Bramhall High School are cock-a-hoop after scoring new basketball hoops thanks to Redrow.

The school received £500 from a voluntary community fund attached to the homebuilder’s Woodford Garden Village.

Assistant head teacher Paul Wraith explained:

“Bramhall High School has an active parent teacher association who work tirelessly to raise money to enhance resources at the school for the benefit of all of our students. One of the projects they’ve been focusing on is improving the leisure areas by providing additional amenities for use at break, lunch and after school, and they successfully applied to Redrow for help. The donation from Redrow was used to contribute towards basketball hoops, which students have been making good use of.”

Since 2016, Redrow’s Woodford community funds have shared more than £15,000 between a diverse mix projects close to the flagship new housing scheme.

The funds are in addition to more than £9.6 million of community investment associated with the new neighbourhood, which will eventually comprise more than 900 new homes across 205 hectares.

Anna Evans-Kerr, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (NW), said:

“Schools are at the heart of any neighbourhood and it’s great to know that residents of Woodford Garden Village have a school with a real sense of community nearby at Bramhall high School. The PTA does a fantastic job at enriching facilities for the students and we’re glad to see the basketball hoops are being put to good use, helping young people stay fit and active.”
