A senior leader at the University of Wolverhampton has been appointed to a top international role.

Tim Steele is the University’s Pro Vice Chancellor (International) and has been appointed as the new Asia Network Chair for Universities UK International (UUKi).

Tim will take on the new role alongside his University position for the next two years. It will involve linking staff from across the UK higher education sector with a shared interest in Asia.

UUKi is the international arm of Universities UK, representing UK universities and acting in their collective interests globally. The organisation promotes universities abroad, provides trusted information for and about them, and creates new opportunities for the sector.

Tim said:

“I am delighted to have been appointed to this new role with Universities UK International. The Asia Network provides participants with a forum to build on the strong links UK universities have across the region addressing the challenges and developments to provide further opportunities for collaboration across Asia. I am looking forward to working with the UUKi team and colleagues across the sector as we continue to support the work within the region during these challenging times and to promote the work we are doing to support each other and our partners as depicted through the #WeAreTogether campaign.”

UUKi network meetings provide a forum for participants to share best practice, discuss specific issues, challenges and emerging opportunities, and help to ensure that Universities UK International accurately reflects UK universities' priorities in relation to specific world regions and thematic areas of activity.
