Millfield Prep School has appointed Mike Jory as Head of Millfield Pre-Prep, beginning in September 2019.

Mike is currently the Headteacher of Draycott and Rodney Stoke C of E First School and Pre-school and Shipham C of E First School and Pre-school. Mike has a Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education from De Montfort University, specialising in Physical Education and Art.

Mike has worked in Somerset in Primary and First Schools for almost 15 years, and has held several senior leaderships posts, including assistant headteacher and deputy headteacher, until his most recent appointment as Headteacher across two church schools within the Mendip Edge Federation in September 2014.

Mike is also a Headteacher representative for SACRE (Somerset Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education) and serves as a Governor for the Mendip Edge Federation. Outside of work, when not spending time with his young family, Mike is a keen golfer and was Captain of Frome Golf Club. He also enjoys the outdoors, camping, cooking and gardening.

Mike says,

Only by working together can we make sure the children enjoy school, establishing firm social and educational foundations, developing the skills and knowledge necessary to become successful life long learners.”
