Beech Hall School is celebrating exceptional success in its recent inspection, with a key focus on education quality and compliance.

The school’s Nursery has been highly-praised by the Independent Schools Inspectorate and awarded with the highest status of ‘Outstanding’ for the third inspection in a row. The provision for the youngest pupils in the school received the much-coveted grade in all areas including:

  • The overall effectiveness of the early years provision
  • Effectiveness of leadership and management
  • Quality of teaching, learning and assessment
  • Personal development, behaviour and welfare
  • Outcomes for children

When commenting on the Nursery, the inspectors recognised that, “the positive atmosphere evident throughout the setting is highly conducive to the children’s learning and development” and “all children make excellent progress”.

Throughout the remainder of the school, the quality of pupils’ personal development achieved the highest accolade of ‘excellent’ with Beech Hall congratulated on the excellent behaviour and the progress of pupils. The report commented, “pupils flourish and grow in self-confidence”, “by the time they leave school, pupils become determined and resilient young people…they are well-prepared for the future.” Children in the Early Years Foundation Stage are described as “making excellent progress in all areas of learning.”

The Tytherington-based school was additionally commended in areas relating to the safeguarding of pupils with the inspectors stating that “good behaviour is promoted” and “bullying is prevented”.

Headteacher James Allen commented:

“We are delighted with the many positive outcomes from this combined inspection, a credit to the hard work and dedication of my colleagues, our pupils and the support from parents, which was overwhelmingly encouraging.

“Given the more recent initiatives throughout the school, I am especially pleased that inspectors recognised that ‘pupils demonstrate excellent attitudes to learning’ and that ‘they feel supported and prepared to attempt tasks that might seem difficult.’

“I am fortunate that there are so many times during the course of the week when I am immensely proud of both pupils and colleagues for the collaborative work they do to achieve such outstanding comments.”
