..to Launch New "Leadership and Management" Course for the Construction Sector
Gloucestershire College is thrilled to announce its partnership with Constructing Excellence South West to introduce a dynamic "Leadership and Management" course tailored specifically for the construction industry. The course is set to commence on 19 March, marking an exciting collaboration aimed at enhancing leadership skills within the sector.
The primary objective of the course is to provide participants with an introduction to 'Leadership for Collaborative Working,' empowering them to understand, appreciate, develop, practise, and apply essential behavioural factors crucial for effective leadership. This initiative is geared towards fostering a culture of collaboration both within and between organisations operating within the construction sector.
Led by experienced lecturers with extensive backgrounds in both the construction industry and academia, the course promises a comprehensive learning experience.
Moreover, it is heavily subsidised, offering flexibility for organisations to enrol multiple participants as desired.
Who Should Attend?
- Individuals preparing for a transition into leading others in a first-line supervisory role.
- Newly qualified apprentices or graduates seeking to enhance their leadership capabilities.
- First-line managers aiming to elevate their performance and leadership skills.
- Functional or technical professionals looking to develop their leadership abilities.

Additionally, the course presents an excellent opportunity for participants to expand their professional network and earn CPD credits.
Course Details:
- Commencing on 19 March.
- Sessions will be conducted one day per fortnight over a span of 16 weeks, totalling 8 sessions in all, with no homework or assignments.
- Upon completion, participants will be invited to a graduation ceremony, where they will receive a Gloucestershire College Certificate presented by GC Principal, Matt Burgess. Line managers and family members will have the opportunity to attend the ceremony.
- Other start dates are also available in April, May, and June.
