Beech Hall School has hosted a highly-anticipated Dog and Small Animal Show, celebrating its inaugural Pet Day.

Over 30 dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and even a small water snail joined their owners at the Tytherington-based school to participate in a range of activities and competitions. One proud pupil Harry Lyons (16), delighted his fellow classmates showcasing his prize-winning sheep.

Canine and furry friends of all shapes and sizes competed to win the titles of Best in Show, Best Name and Most Agile over the Assault Course, with a much-coveted rosette being awarded to the winner of each category.

Headmaster James Allen commented:

“Our inaugural Pet Day was a huge success with everyone really getting into the spirit of it. It was great to see the children bringing in such a range of pets to school, excited to show them off. Looking after their beloved friends for the day provided the children with comfort and encouraged a sense of responsibility.

“Thank you and congratulations to all entrants and supporters – it was a fantastic day thoroughly enjoyed by all.”
