Treetop Trek in Heaton Park is launching a fundraising challenge for Manchester businesses in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust North West.

Manchester’s biggest outdoor adventure attraction is inviting businesses to send teams of six intrepid colleagues to escape the office and head for the trees, to help raise £5000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust North West.

The teams will complete Treetop Trek’s Zip Trek, a huge aerial obstacle course featuring 38 high ropes challenges, including 15 zip lines, but there’s a twist - half the team members must be blindfolded. The fundraising initiative will see six colleagues hone their teamwork to navigate ziplines and rope bridges suspended high in the trees - far from the average team-building exercise!

Each team must raise a minimum of £250 for Teenage Cancer Trust North West to participate, and they are invited to get creative and complete the Trek in fancy dress, with prizes awarded to the best-dressed team and for the best team name. Further prizes will be awarded for the fastest time taken to complete the Trek, the most awareness raised on social media, and for the team that raises the most money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The Teenage Cancer Trust aims to make sure people aged 13-24 don’t have to face cancer alone. Working in partnership with the NHS, the charity provides expert staff and specialist units within Principal Treatment Centres and helps bring young people with cancer together to support each other. The charity also organises presentations in schools and helps medical professionals and politicians to understand the unique needs of young people with cancer.

The Teenage Cancer Trust North West and Cumbria is Treetop Trek’s chosen charity for the year, with numerous fundraising initiatives and events throughout 2018 at each of the company’s three sites in Cumbria, Manchester, and North Yorkshire.

Mike Turner, the founder of Treetop Trek LTD, said:

“The Teenage Cancer Trust is a fantastic and important cause and we’re proud to support their valuable work through our fundraising initiatives this year. We’d love for Manchester companies to swap the computer for a daring few hours in the trees at Heaton Park, boosting team morale and raising vital funds for this deserving cause.”

The fundraising event will be held on Saturday 13th October at 9am. Teams must raise £250 pounds for the charity.

Businesses interested in registering a team for the fundraiser should call 01539447186 or email groups@treetoptrek.co.uk for a registration form.
