Leading business outsourcing specialist Sigma Connected has donated £1,000 to a UK charity which ensures inclusion and harnesses community skills for Romani gypsies and Irish Travellers.

Sigma Connected, which provides contact centre services for the utilities, retail, telecommunications and financial services sectors, selected charity The Traveller Movement through an employee vote as part of its Community Foundation.

Established in 1999 and formerly known as the Irish Traveller Movement, the registered charity is a key link for travelling communities across the UK and helps to support those suffering from racism, domestic abuse, bullying and mental health issues.

Maria Dubuc, chair of Sigma Connected Community Foundation said

"The donation will help the charity to reach more people and vitally, it will also help their plans to visit campsites in the coming months to offer a range of free educational workshops for adults and children.

"Those workshops will include topics such as learning more about their legal rights and career advice, but also help to reach out more and create a safe haven for the future of Romani and gypsy families."

Mike Harfield, chief operating officer at Sigma Connected Group, added:
