Five colleagues from the Westgrove Group missed the Royal Wedding to climb Ben Nevis instead to help raise money for charity.

The group, led by Westgrove’s Brand Ambassador and record-breaking adventurer Alex Staniforth from Chester, comprised Chairman Steve Fives, Jenny Fives, Tony Page, Head of Health, Safety & Compliance and Brand and Development Director Laurie Barton Wright.

Money raised will be used by PHASE Worldwide to help communities in Nepal, many of whom were impacted by the 2015 earthquake. Fundraising goes towards health and education programmes as well as earthquake relief, recovery and construction.

Laurie Barton Wright, Brand and Development Director for The Westgrove Group, headquartered in Warrington and one of the largest independent security and cleaning companies operating alongside the larger PLC’s, said:

“It was fantastic to climb 4000 metres to the summit of Ben Nevis and the Gurkhas who helped us get up and down in one piece were amazing.

“We were joined by a whole team of people taking part in this latest Walk for Nepal which followed on from earlier walks up Snowdon and Scafell Pile which The Westgrove Group and Alex Staniforth also supported.

“We’re delighted that the fund-raising has already smashed £30,000 and that Team Westgrove raised over £1,500 to add to this total.”

Alex, an ambassador for PHASE Worldwide, said:

“Walking Ben Nevis is a great experience and it was extra special to share it with a group of friends and colleagues from Westgrove who have raised money to support PHASE too.”

Westgrove Group Chairman Steve Fives said:

“Jenny and I have climbed both Scafell and Snowdon, so it was great to complete the set with Alex. He is an inspiring role model.”
