Caravan and motorhome owners go paperless – helping their insurance provider, Caravan Guard, raise money for national charity, Heart Research UK. As part of Caravan Guard’s commitment to helping hearts, they donate £1 to Heart Research UK every time a customer chooses to receive their insurance documents by email, rather than in the post.

Throughout 2016, the insurance specialists had a record breaking year from this campaign and their Managing Director, Ryan Wilby, handed Heart Research UK a cheque last week for £15,163, which they were all thrilled with.

As a thank you for their generosity and support, Heart Research UK attended the offices in Halifax, along with their mascot Hartley, to offer all staff healthy heart checks and lifestyle advice. Caravan Guard staff celebrated the record breaking fundraising amount by singing for their hearts in a karaoke contest.

Heart Research UK CEO, Barbara Harpham, said: “Caravan Guard have done us proud again. Their very generous donation will be used in our 50th anniversary year, in Yorkshire, to pay for medical research into the prevention, treatment and cure of heart disease and helping hearts for many years to come.

Everyone at Caravan Guard has shown how adopting good lifestyle habits can reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. They are a shining example to other Yorkshire companies of how you can look after your employee’s heart health and help them live healthier, happier, longer lives.”

Ryan, gave this year’s donation to a thrilled Hartley and thanked customers and their staff for helping the company smash its fundraising target: “We thought we’d written our biggest cheque last year, but once again, I’m delighted that our customers have chosen to have their policy documents emailed to them, so we can keep on raising lots of money for Heart Research UK.

Customers not only receive their insurance documents quicker, but they’re also helping to protect the environment too, as well as supporting our strategy to support our chosen local and national charities.”

The money raised will help to prevent and treat heart disease across the UK by funding the charity’s work. Heart Research UK have even more reason to celebrate this year as they mark 50 years of Helping hearts. This milestone year is a great time to partner with the charity to help them celebrate all their fantastic achievements in medial advancements.
