Plans are underway for a team of fourteen cycle riders from Hills Ford showrooms in Malvern and Kidderminster, to take on the annual London to Brighton Cycle Ride, taking place this year on Sunday 17th September 2017. The riders will be looking to raise at least their target of £5,400 for St Richards Hospice in Worcester – that’s £100 for each of the 54 miles of the ride.

The fourteen cyclists from the company - that has two Ford dealerships in Worcestershire - all of varying levels of fitness ranging from weekly participation in sport to no participation in sport at all, are simply a team of work colleagues coming together to raise money for a worthwhile charity.

The team will be known as Go For It Team Hills and the riders have started to raise their fitness levels already so they can be ready for the challenge. The company will be holding two additional days of fundraising on June 1st and 2nd where staff will ride 183 miles on a static push bike in the showroom in Kidderminster over the Thursday and Friday. Its 183 miles from the showroom to the centre of London, so the team is treating this as the ‘first leg’ of the ride so that all staff – not just the fourteen riding from London to Brighton - can get involved. Customers can donate in the showroom or on line!

The Just Giving link to head for if you want to make a donation at any time, is https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/GFITeamHills - details of what they will be doing will be on this page.

“Mark Price, Hills After Sales Manager says this is a major fund raising effort and one the whole team at Hills Ford is supporting in their own way: “It’s really caught the imagination and the charity we’re raising funds for is such a worthwhile one, that does tremendous work for families and individuals across Worcestershire. We are looking for businesses in the county – or further afield – to sponsor the team in some way – either through a donation, or they could sponsor the T shirts the riders and support team will wear, transport costs or pretty much anything they want to sponsor! We will carry their logo on the T shirts and on the stickers we use to decal the support vehicles and on the web site and online activity we carry out to raise awareness of what we will be getting up to.”
