Local mental health charity Changes Bristol and The Bristol Golf Club will be teeing off on 23 September 2019 for a charity golf day. The event will raise vital funds for Changes Bristol to help fund its 12 weekly peer support groups. The support groups, which are free to attend, are held across the Bristol area and work to support Bristol’s mental wellbeing.

The golf day will see several individual challenges - including beat the pro, ball in the boat, nearest the pin - as well as prizes for the first and second placed teams.

Speaking about the event, Kat Hartley, Events and Development Manager at Changes Bristol, said:

“We are thrilled to announce our charity golf day with The Bristol Golf Club.

“The support from the golf club has made a vital contribution to the charity, which has enabled us to equip people with the tools to achieve better mental wellbeing.

“This golf day is very sociable and a great opportunity for golfers of all abilities to have fun, while showing their support for an issue that can have an impact on any of us, as well as our family and friends.”

Grant Masterton, the General Manager from The Bristol Golf Club, said:

“We’re so excited to host this event in aid of such a worthwhile cause.

“Changes Bristol has been changing the lives of adults in Bristol for almost 15 years. We are proud to help the charity to deliver the best results and support the wellbeing of local people.

“The charity has worked with The Bristol Golf Club for over a year now. They have provided informative sessions about mental health to our members, as well as hosting their Mend for Good sewing fundraiser in our clubhouse.”

Last year’s inaugural charity golf day raised over £2,000 for Changes Bristol, which enabled the charity to develop new initiatives and extend its reach across the city.

Teams of four of any ability are encouraged to join, with prices starting at £25 for members or £35 for non-members. Tickets include breakfast with tea or coffee before the games begin and a post-game meal.

The golf will start at 10am on Monday 23 September at The Bristol Golf Club, St. Swithins Park, Blackhorse Hill, Almondsbury, Bristol, BS10 7TP.
