At the beginning of this year, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) launched a brand-new initiative for companies based across the South West to mark its milestone 30th anniversary.

The CHSW Business Club was set up with the aim of recruiting 100 businesses in 2021, each paying £300 for their membership, raising £30,000 for the charity which cares for local children with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

There are a range of benefits to joining the CHSW Business Club including: building connections, raising awareness of your business, and attending exclusive online events.

In March, members were invited to join a Q&A with three Exeter Chief Players, hosted by Ugo Monye; they also attended the first virtual networking event, which was met with high praise.

Kurtis Reece, PR & Corporate Partnerships Executive at National Friendly Financial Solutions (NFFS), said:

“We’re one of the proud founding members of the CHSW Business Club and having attended a number of networking events before Covid, this is the first for NFFS on a remote basis.

The virtual networking event is a great opportunity for businesses who operate locally and throughout the South West, as many seek innovation and a safe way forward post-Covid. Now is the time for solidarity and support, which is an additional benefit of being part of the Business Club.”

NFFS Business Development Manager, Rob Saunders, agreed:

“There was a genuine and positive feeling for the work of CHSW from all who attended the first virtual networking event. With such a diverse group of businesses, there is a lot of potential and scope to build relationships and recommendations for the future.”
