Tevva Motors Founder & CEO Asher Bennett’s relationship with alternative fuel and electric propulsion systems began more than 25 years ago as a Submarine Officer .

Since then, Asher has gained almost two decades worth of experience developing businesses and commercialising technology , most recently leading the venture - backed EV ida Power Inc from its formation in 2008. Today, he leads Tevva Motors, developing the next generation of range extended electric trucks in the medium - duty (7.5tonne) urban back - to - base segment.

Asher’s involvement with alternative fuel propulsion systems started in in 1990 as an officer of a Naval , British built, diesel - elect ric submarine for Israeli Navy. Asher was Head of Torpedo, Sonar and Navigation department, serving as an Officer for five years.

More recently, Asher has founded , managed and been involved with a number of start - up companies including an online construction management software company and Cyota, an online anti - fraud software company.

In 2008, back ed by Terra Venture Partners , Asher established the E V ida Power Inc . The provider of energy solutio ns for the electric vehicle (EV) market, EVida had operations in the United States, Europe, Israel and China. Enabling the proliferation of EVs, EVida developed and produced specialty battery packs and battery management systems for the EV market , which i n clud ed the French Mia Electric.

Having provided battery pack design, EV integration services and customized financial solutions to enable the uptake of electric vehicles, Asher set his sights on a new goal . Not content with just developing the battery syst ems , and realising the lack of support for a key market sector, Asher established Tevva Motors to bring electric and ultra - low emission trucks to the mass market. With trucks and HGVs fulfilling different roles to cars, the solution and technology is requi red to operate and deliver different results. As a workhorse that run s for long hours every day , downtime is not only undesirable, but also costly for any business.

Forming Tevva with a team of very experienced EV specialists , Asher is developing his own E V solution for the commercial vehicle market, the next generation of range extended electric trucks in the medium - duty (7.5tonne) urban back - to - base segment. In the EU alone, this segment is worth £4.5bn with a market size of circa. 150,000 vehicles. Tevva ’s technology will ensure vehicles meet the performance benchmarks of diesel powered equivalents, with lower total costs of ownership (TCO), lower emissions and remain suitable for current usage patterns.

Asher is a LEED Accredited Professional of the Unit ed States Green Building Council. As her graduated first in class from the Naval Academy and received his MBA from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland
