As a result in significant growth in the fleet operations of Greenhous, the company has heavily invested in a bespoke 35 acre Fleet Operations Centre – called the Greenhous Village, at High Ercall, near Telford in Shropshire.

Greenhous proudly sits in 54th position in the Sunday Times Top Track 100 of Britain’s private companies with the largest sales. The Greenhous Group is a major employer with over 1,000 employees across its retail, fleet and refurbishment operations.

The new Fleet Operations Centre offers vehicle storage for over 6,000 cars and commercial vehicles including 24 hour security and a state of the art CCTV system including ANPR cameras. Security and health and safety are of paramount importance at the new centre.

Greenhous has its own software development team. In co-operation with fuel management experts, Octane, they constructed a bespoke system of logging all movements of, and actions on, each of the vehicles so that an accurate and live feed of data can be viewed of any vehicle on site.

Each vehicle is electronically identified and tagged so it can be found on site through a GPS tracking system. From arrival to departure, vehicles can be accurately placed and collected from dedicated zones across the site. The new software solution includes fuel telematics of the journey for that vehicle and the automatic dispensing of an accurate amount of fuel avoiding over fuelling and the allied costs that this has caused to the company in the past. We also offer a fuel de-bowsing facility for de-fleeted stock.

The Greenhous National Fleet Centre at High Ercall can deal with high volumes of vehicles from all brands. It is a manufacturer accredited site which deals with rental, fleet contract hire and large corporate company contracts. The Pre-Delivery Inspection teams carry out the preparation and customisation of vehicles before delivery. This includes diagnostics and software updates, commercial vehicle fittings such as dash cameras, ply-lining, racking, wrapping and accessories. Each vehicle receives a valeting service and final quality control check before delivery.

A bespoke Fleet Management System has also been developed which has a portal system for customers to log into enabling them to track their vehicle(s) from the point of order to delivery. The Greenhous logistics operation for transported or driven units includes live tracking and delivery updates for customers.

Kevin Swinnerton, Fleet Operations Director at the Greenhous Village, enthuses about the impact the new National Fleet Centre has made since opening in February 2017 saying:

“We are delighted with the interest we have generated in the industry. We are an innovative company and have invested in, and implemented, several bespoke software solutions that have been developed by our team and these are industry leading solutions.

“Greenhous has invested in this Fleet Operations Centre with a view to becoming market leaders and offering our clients a bespoke solution to their transport needs. There is demand for the flexible approach we offer to the industry. The success of the Centre in the first 9 months of its operation has exceeded our expectations.

“We have had many approaches and visits from rental, fleet contract hire and corporate businesses. My team will offer a warm welcome here at Greenhous Village.”
