The brilliant son of a chemist, Joseph Ash founded Joseph Ash Galvanizing Ltd in Birmingham in 1857. With a unique vision focused upon technical expertise and outstanding levels of customer care, the company grew from strength to strength in the UK and now operates six plants located in Bilston, Bridgend, Chesterfield, Medway, Telford and Walsall.
Technical expertise and customer care are the guiding principles which have steered Joseph Ash for 150 years. These remain at the core of everything we do and are not only in evidence through the quality of technical work we deliver, but through the additional services we provide, which include:
- Collection and delivery
- On-site storage facilities
- Bundling, packing and export containerisation
- A one stop shop service for shot blasting, galvanizing and powder coating (from our Medway plant)
- A Technical Support Department, staffed full time by qualified personnel who have a wealth of experience in the galvanizing industry

The Joseph Ash Medway plant is the only steel finisher in England to be granted approved galvanizer status by Akzo Nobel for one stop shop services.We are also the only approved Akzo Nobel and IGP paint applicator.
Joseph Ash works hard to protect the environment through an ever-growing list of recycling activities with processes supported by an Environmental and Sustainability Policy.
