The Police Digital Security Centre (PDSC) is partnering with specialist UK cyber insurance provider Cyber Covered, in a move designed to encourage UK SME’s to invest in their cyber security practices.

The PDSC’s Digitally Aware certification scheme has been designed to enable small businesses across the UK to demonstrate that they are ‘Digitally Aware’. Cyber Covered has agreed to fund the cost of the certification program for those small businesses looking to transfer their cyber risk upon certification.

The certification process can be completed through a simple online assessment tool that enables small businesses to regularly review their exposure to the most common forms of cybercrime. This focus on simplicity and awareness of how cyber risk exposures are constantly evolving, aligns with the Cyber Covered commitment to ongoing risk management support, with the firm already offering access to security and compliance software providers for all of their UK policyholders.
