Cheltenham-based IT and telecoms company PSU Technology Group has welcomed three new apprentices who are studying at Gloucestershire College.

Beth Greenway, Lana Piht and Lawrence Taylor have joined the company’s Service Delivery department, taking on roles in the Service Transition and Service Operations teams.

HR Business Partner Joanna Heseltine is delighted:

“We had a number of excellent candidates apply for these apprenticeship roles, and we were particularly impressed by Beth, Lawrence and Lana’s knowledge and enthusiasm for the technology industry.

“Having recently celebrated Ada Lovelace Day which recognises women in technology, it has been especially encouraging to have received an increased number of applications from young women, and for two out of our three successful candidates to be female.”

This is the third intake of apprentices since the company adopted its apprenticeship scheme in 2013, with graduates of the programme going on to bright new careers.

Through their roles based on the company’s busy Service Desk, Lawrence and Lana’s IT and Telecoms apprenticeships are focused on offering first line technical support to customers, whilst they work on attaining ITIL, CompTIA A+ and Windows 10 qualifications.

Meanwhile, Beth is developing her project management skills within PSU’s Service Transition team, planning and managing customer orders whilst studying on the College’s Business Administration course.

Director of Service and Operations Dan Bridges has been pleased with the apprentices’ progress so far.

“Lana, Lawrence and Beth have settled into the team incredibly well and have really hit the ground running. With technology changing so rapidly, apprenticeships offer an excellent way for young people to get to grips with the fast-paced industry and learn the right skills to excel in their future careers. I’ve no doubt that our three new recruits have bright futures ahead of them, and PSU is proud to have been able to offer them this opportunity.”
