Small businesses in Bristol will be able to access a series of free workshops to help promote their businesses when Do It Digital – the not-for-profit campaign that aims to help small, independent businesses around the UK make the most of the advantages of being online – brings its nationwide digital roadshow to the city on Wednesday, March 29th.

Attendance at the workshops is free but places should be pre-booked at www.doitdigital.co.uk/events. For those unable to attend in person, the workshops will be streamed live on Facebook and via Periscope on Twitter. The workshops are:

A Sure-Fire Strategy To Sell More - Alison Edgar, Managing Director of Sales Coaching Solutions and The Entrepreneur’s Godmother will be covering her key pillar areas of sales - Behaviours, Sales Process and Digital Marketing, all to teach you how to raise your profile and to enable you to sell more of your products and services. During the session she will give tips that can be implemented away. This will take place form 1pm-2pm.

Be Digital Ready - Cheryl Crichton from marketing, design and online consultancy, Solid Sources, will speak about why it’s a good idea to think mobile first when planning marketing. This session is for businesses who aren’t sure how the mobile and digital world impacts on marketing planning but want to step up their thinking. This will take place form 2pm-2.30pm.

During the course of the day, two local businesses will also receive a digital makeover with web, social media and digital strategy experts giving them one to one advice and guidance on board the Do It Digital bus. On hand to provide digital advice will be Sarah Cook from Bristol-based SHC Social Media; Natalie Luckham from Wiltshire-based Naturally Social as well as representatives from website specialists MBJ and web.com.

Do It Digital Director, Michelle Ovens says: “The Do It Digital campaign is not only about helping the digitally un-engaged take their first steps online but also helping those already online to expand their digital horizons. This could mean anything from a first, simple web presence to taking the first steps towards selling online.”

“Digital engagement is crucial for all aspects of business, from marketing and recruitment to banking and accounting, and is only likely to become more so. Digital engagement will become increasingly central to the development of competitive, profitable and growing businesses.”
